What do you think the purpose is of each of the following pieces of writing?

L'Auberge is the little French bistro of your dreams. Try a first course of grilled, honeyed goat's cheese salad, snails in a garlic cream, or a terrine of pheasant. Then, try rib-eye steak cooked as rare as you like, supreme of guinea fowl or fillet of Scotch beef with a wild-mushroom sauce. Save room to enjoy something from the gorgeous dessert menu. It's all good value, so pop along soon.

Rainwater streamed down her face and mixed with the tears she was unable to hold back. Looking down at the newly dug grave, Louise felt lost.
