Mistakes in grammar and spelling make it
harder for people to read your writing. They also make people think
that you don't know how to write properly or that you have not
taken much care.
A grammar and spell checker is built into most word processing packages. Use this, but watch out:

If you're not sure about how to use complicated punctuation, try to write sentences that don't need too much of it. Keep sentences short.
Remember that full stops and commas tell people where to pause. They make your writing easy to read and understand. Read through what you've written and see if the pauses are in the right place.
