Your name
Put your name in bold at the top.

Contact details
Give your address plus any other contact details - telephone, mobile phone, email

Other personal details
Give your date of birth (not your age)
Say whether you're male or female if you can't tell from your first name
You can state your marital status (single/married) and if you have children, if you wish.

Education and qualifications
Include the name and address and dates you attended:
  • Secondary school
  • Further education
List the qualifications you obtained at each (plus a brief summary of the course and skills gained if you wish)
Work Experience
Give details of the dates you worked, the company's name and address, and brief details of your duties, responsibilities or achievements. Include anything particularly relevant to the job you want.
Put your work experience in reverse order, with the work you did most recently first on the list.

Skills
Include:
  • Language skills - say what level you have achieved and if you can write and/or speak the language.
  • Computer skills - say what software packages and operating systems you know, plus any programming languages.
  • Keyboard skills - if you've learnt to type, mention your speed.
  • Driving skills - always say if you have a driving licence and if you have no endorsements say you have a "clean licence".

Hobbies and interests
Mention interests that give clues about your personality, make you interesting and add to your skills and qualities.
Include sports, music, societies and clubs etc. Be specific. Point out areas where you have had responsibility - eg as leader of your church choir or captain of a sports team.
