Dear Ms Hackford

Advertisement for Trainee Production Assistant

I was very interested to see your advertisement for the above post in The Times on Monday, 8 January 2001, as I plan to develop a career in production. Please accept this letter and the attached CV as my application.

I completed my secondary education in July last year where I maintained a B+ average in all my grades and held a perfect attendance record throughout the final two years of my schooling. I participated in our school's Office Education programme, which I enjoyed immensely.

I acquired on-the-job experience as an IT Help Desk operator for a telecommunications company. My duties included loading new software programs onto PCs and troubleshooting both software and hardware PC problems. In this position I discovered an aptitude and a liking for solving IT-related technical problems that I hope to develop in business.

I take part in many extracurricular activities, but the time I spent as stage manager of our junior amateur dramatic society at the Gade Theatre in Rickmansworth was the most challenging and rewarding so far.

Please find enclosed my CV, which I believe shows that I have the training and experience to fill the position.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity for a personal interview at your convenience.

Yours sincerely

letter
