There are various jobs available in the print media:
Editors:
Writers/Journalists:
Not all writing in a newspaper is factual
and based on the news. Experts in a field can be commissioned to
write articles for a book or a newspaper. Sometimes writers are
asked to give their 'view on life' in a magazine or newspaper
column based on their experience - various politicians and sports
personalities have become regular columnists for newspapers and
magazines.
Proofreaders read through the text line-by-line, looking
for grammatical errors (sentences that do not make sense, spelling
and punctuation) and typographical (printing) errors.
Illustrators are artists who provide pictures for
books.
Designers lay out the pages of the text and
illustrations.
Photographers are often commissioned to take photographs
that illustrate stories in books, newspapers and magazines. If a
newspaper story relies heavily on photography to tell the story
this is called photojournalism.
