New media includes the Internet.
Jobs in this field include:
Web designers create ideas for web sites, lay out the
wording and graphics and perhaps build the site.
The Web developer is the
technician behind a web site. S/he is responsible for:
- The technical design and the building of large
and complicated sites
- Building databases to link to the site -
perhaps to allow customers to buy on-line
- Putting the site on-line and ensuring
any technical maintenance.
Editors, journalists and writers carry out duties very similar to those in the other media - except
that they are done on-line.
